This Morning's Run - 6 Miles Easy

March 25, 2016

This morning's running assignment was 6 miles easy. I didn't really stick to running or stick to "easy" all the time.

And even though I have been avoiding quantifying most things in my life, I have decided to amuse myself by quantifying this run:

  • dogs I stopped to pet: 1
  • other runners I cheered on: 3
  • neighbors with whom I exchanged smiles and words: 2
  • people I scared the hell out of while sprinting at Lake Anne: 1 (sorry!)
  • old college buddies I stopped to have a leisurely walk and chat with: 1

These dimensions of measurement are nothing my GPS watch captured and it's just as well since their personal value, the value of connection, can't be measured in any meaningful way.
